Adult DBT Skills Class:

The DBT Skills course aims to teach practical coping and life skills. The DBT Skills program is based on research into the most effective skills to manage emotions, thoughts, urges and behaviour.  The course is delivered in 3 modules covering the core skill areas of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.  Participants will be guided through a range of skills and practical exercises.  Suited to those new to DBT as well as those who have previously participated in DBT. A range of resources is provided as part of the course. We offer classes in-person in our Traralgon office and online via our secure online classes. Each Module requires a separate registration. Modules can be completed in any order.

Adolescent DBT Skills Program:

The DBT Skills Adolescent course teaches 5 modules of DBT skills for teens and parent/caregivers.  The DBT Skills program is based on years of research into the most effective skills to manage difficult emotions, thoughts, urges and problem behaviour. Skills are taught across the areas of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness/Middle Path,  These skills sessions are specifically designed for adolescents and parent/caregivers to improve coping and reduce family stress.  An extensive range of resources are provided as part of the course.

Medicare rebates available with a valid GP/Psychiatrist referral.

Family Connections Groups:

Axon Health works with the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD Australia) to support the 12 session Family Connections DBT program for family and friends who have a loved one with Borderline Personality Disorder or problems with Emotion Dysregulation.  These groups are held regularly throughout the year.  Groups are held online and in person, at no cost to participants.

Stress Busters:

Our successful “Stress Busters”- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Class is available on request.  This popular 6 hour group program can be offered weekly or in workshop format. The program is ideal for workplace wellbeing support or for other groups or clubs.


Tuning Into Teens:

We offer the  “Tuning Into Teens” parent education course for parents seeking to support teens to develop emotional intelligence and improve communication and family relationships.
